The vineyard is situated on the southern slopes of the Fronsadais region, in the village of Saint-Germain-de-la-Rivi\u00e8re, this exposure inducing an optimal maturity of the grapes.<\/p>

The altitude of 40m above the Dordogne river enhances this phenomenon and protects the vineyard from spring frosts.<\/p>

The clay-limestone with sandstone inclusions and some sandy-clay zones provides the wines with a remarkable concentration and freshness.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The vines and the soils are pampered to produce qualitative and healthy grapes. Green manure is cultivated in autumn, to avoid runoff and to provide nutriments in spring and cover the soil in summer.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Passionate about traditional techniques, the Schmid-Haguenin family acquires two draft horses: Saphir, the percheron gelding and Gitane the Belgian draft mare. These horses enable them to work the vines traditionally, without compacting the soil. In between to work sessions, Saphir and Gitane have a good time in their pastures.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Harvest is carried out by hand, by a team of professionals and regulars that select the healthy and ripe grapes.<\/p>\n

After de-stemming, the grapes are sorted on a sorting belt, where other team members discard vegetal debris and damaged berries.<\/p>\n

After a an ageing that is adapted to each cuv\u00e9e, the wines are assembles according to the desired profile.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

La propri\u00e9t\u00e9 Fronsac, un h\u00e9ritage Tomb\u00e9s sous le charme de cette r\u00e9gion viticole charg\u00e9e d\u2019histoire, avec ses terroirs qualitatifs et ses vins renomm\u00e9s, les vignerons restructurent progressivement les 5 hectares de vignes.\u00a0 Situ\u00e9 sur les coteaux sud du Fronsadais sur la commune de Saint-Germain-de-la-Rivi\u00e8re, l\u2019exposition de notre domaine apporte une maturit\u00e9 optimale des raisins. L\u2019altitude \u00e0 40m au-dessus de la Dordogne accentue ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne et prot\u00e8ge des gel\u00e9es de printemps. Le sol est argilo-calcaire et sablo-argileux \u00e0 inclusions calcaires, ce qui donne aux vins une fraicheur et une concentration \u00e9tonnantes. Nos vignes Le travail de la vigne Les vignes et les sols sont bichonn\u00e9s pour permettre de produire un raisin sain et qualitatif. Des engrais verts sont sem\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019automne pour apporter des nutriments \u00e0 la vigne au printemps et couvrir le sol en paillage pendant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9. Une utilisation maitris\u00e9e du cuivre permet de minimiser son impact sur les sols Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la biodiversit\u00e9 et au biocontr\u00f4le, aucun insecticide n\u2019est utilis\u00e9 dans les vignes. De nombreuses haies & arbustes jalonnent les parcelles pour favoriser la biodiversit\u00e9 dans les vignes pour un meilleur \u00e9quilibre faune & flore de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me. Notre savoir-faire Passionn\u00e9s par les m\u00e9thodes traditionnelles Passionn\u00e9e par les m\u00e9thodes traditionnelles et \u00e9tant grands adeptes des chevaux, la famille Schmid-Haguenin acquiert des chevaux de trait : Saphir, le percheron et Gitane la trait belge. Ces chevaux permettent de travailler les vignes de mani\u00e8re traditionnelle en limitant le tassement du sol. Entre les sessions de travail, Saphir et Gitane paissent dans une prairie. Apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9raflage des grappes, les raisins passent sur une table de tri manuelle, o\u00f9 des petites mains \u00e9liminent les d\u00e9bris v\u00e9g\u00e9taux et les baies abim\u00e9es.
