Discover Château l'Escarderie
It took many renovations on the winery and restructurations of the vineyard surrounding the building to restore the original beauty of this gem of the Fronsadais region, and to produce quality wines.

The buildings are neo-gothic style, inspired by the beautiful mansions of the Bordeaux region.
When the property was took over, the winery building was in a bad shape, with part of the roof ready to collapse and damaged doors and window frames. The family has rolled up their sleeves to renovate this beautiful building according to the principles of ancient housebuilding.
A crowdfunding was released in 2020 to help the owners renovate a big opening with carved wooden ornaments and add a glass pane. The ancient shutter with its openwork in the form of flowers is a perfect example of 19th century architecture. With the help of many contributors, this renovation has been conducted by a local craftsman. This floral motive has become the symbol of the property, elegant and refined. It is beautiful but also useful for the thermic regulation of the building.
The building is semi-underground, which enables a better temperature regulation, in winter and in summer. The other advantage is that the harvest is filled into the vat directly from the first floor, avoiding pumping and therefore grinding of the berries. Instead, they fall into the vats by gravity.

The vineyard
Charmed by this ancient historical wine region, with its high quality soils and renowned wines, the winegrowers have progressively restructured the 5 hectares of vineyards. It took many renovations on the winery and restructurations of the vineyard surrounding the building to restore the original beauty of this gem of the Fronsadais region, and to produce quality wines.
